Tammy Baldwin – Wisconsin (D)


Tammy Baldwin - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress


She was the U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 2nd congressional district, serving since 1999. On November 6, 2012, Baldwin won the United States Senate election in Wisconsin. She is the first openly gay person to be elected to the Senate and the first female elected to represent Wisconsin in the Senate.




Ted Cruz – Texas (R)


Ted Cruz - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress

From 2004 to 2009 Cruz was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation. He is a Cuban American politician and the United States Senator-elect for the state of Texas.




Joe Donnelly – Indiana (D)


Joe Donnelly - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress

He was the U.S. Representative for Indiana’s 2nd congressional district, serving since 2007. Donnelly won the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate in an uncontested primary and defeated Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock in the general election. He is the United States Senator-elect from Indiana having won the 2012 general election.




Jeff Flake – Arizona (R)


Jeff Flake - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress

He served as Executive Director of the Foundation for Democracy in Namibia and Executive Director of the Goldwater Institute before entering the House of Representatives. He opposed economic sanctions on South Africa’s apartheid regime in the 1980s. He is the U.S. Representative for Arizona’s 6th congressional district and Senator-elect from Arizona. He is a member of the Republican Party.




Deb Fischer – Nebraska (R)


Deb Fisher - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress

She formerly was a two-term member of the Nebraska Legislature, representing the 43rd District. She is the junior U.S. senator-elect from Nebraska.




Martin Heinrich – New Mexico (D)


Martin Heinrich - Newley Elected US Senator of the 113 Congress

He previously was U.S. Representative for New Mexico’s 1st congressional district, serving since 2009. He is the United States Senator-elect for New Mexico. Heinrich won the Senate seat vacated by retiring Senator Jeff Bingaman in 2012.




Heidi Heitkamp – North Dakota (D)

She worked as an attorney for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. She is North Dakota’s second female senator, after Jocelyn Burdick, and the first to be elected. She is the United States Senator-elect from the U.S. state of North Dakota.




Mazie Hirono – Hawaii (D)


Mazie Hirono

She was currently the U.S. Representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district, serving since 2007. Hirono will be the first female Senator from Hawaii, the first Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, the first U.S. Senator born in Japan, and the nation’s first Buddhist Senator.




Tim Kaine – Virginia (D)


Tim Kaine

He served as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2009 to 2011 and as the 70th Governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010. He is the United States Senator-elect from the state ofVirginia.




Angus King – Maine (I)


Angus King

He served as the 72nd Governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003. Since 2004, King has been a lecturer at Bowdoin College teaching a course called “Leaders and Leadership”; in the fall of 2009, he taught a similar course at Bates College He is the Senator-elect for the state of Maine, replacing the retiring Olympia Snowe.

He is the United States Senator-elect for the state of Connecticut. Before being elected to the House,




Elizabeth Warren – Massachusetts (D)


Elizabeth Warren

She is an American bankruptcy law expert, Harvard Law School professor, and has written a number of academic and popular works, and is a frequent subject of media interviews regarding the American economy and personal finance. Her work as a national policy advocate led to the conception and establishment of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She is the the U.S. Senator-elect for the state of Massachusetts and will be the first female senator from Massachusetts to sit in the US Senate.
