ASSOCIATION OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY SEEKING SUMMER LEGISLATIVE INTERNS
The Association of the United States Navy (AUSN), the premier voice
and advocate for our nation’s current and former Sailors, is looking
for a full or part time unpaid Legislative Intern for their offices in
Old Town, Alexandria.
Candidates should have, or be pursuing, a degree in Political
Science/Government Affairs/Communications. Strong writing and
personal skills a must! An interest and passion for the United States
Navy and Navy Reserve is highly desirable.
In addition to administrative tasks, i.e. answering phones and helping
to schedule appointments, interns will monitor and write After Action
Reports on Congressional Hearings of interest such as House and Senate
Armed Services, Appropriations and Veterans’ Affairs Committee
hearings. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend meetings
with Congressional Staff along with the Legislative Director as well
as other meetings off of Capitol Hill.
The Legislative Director is also willing to oversee a research project
of the intern’s interest if they are pursuing class credit for the
internship.

flexible/negotiable for the fall, spring, and summer and Metrorail

at our headquarters off of King Street in Alexandria.

Summer Internships: April 10
Attorney Recruiter Coordinator for a local DC law firm.
Needs 3+ years experience in the legal recruiting in a law firm setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
corresponding with candidates, search firms, law students and career services
professionals; screening resumes; scheduling interviews; maintaining applicant
files; coordinating and administering the fall on-campus interviewing program;
and coordinating and administering the summer associate program (orientation,
work assignments, evaluations and event planning). The successful candidate will
be highly motivated and will have excellent judgment. Candidate must possess
strong interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
He/she will be able to work independently and also effectively as part of a
team, and must be available to work overtime and attend evening events as
necessary.
Excellent Firm and Benefits. Salary $60k-$70k. Candidate can NOT have a JD (client’s specific specification).
